I miss the way that you hold my hand;
The way we can speak without saying a word.
I know it sounds silly, we're only apart.
But you took with you, baby, a piece of my heart.

Have I told you "I miss you" today?
You listen to more than my words.
And hear the things often unheard.
I hope it's not silly to say,
I need you much more everyday.

Have I told you "I miss you" today?
My heart's not my own anymore.
You're all that my dreams have wished for.
With a look, a caress, and soft sigh,
Please tell me "hello" not "goodbye".

Have I told you "I miss you" today?
Three little words I am longing to say...
I feel they are not far away.
For the moment I tell you instead
"I miss you" and leave those words left unsaid.

One of my characters is going through a rough spot with her emotions when she finds out that her imaginary best friend is not only real, but dying and this sort of seeped out of me yesterday while driving down the freeway. Or is 87 simply a highway? Bah, not the point. Part of a co-op I'm working on with my cousin, "Talon Eagle".

This could fit for any number of things, but I hope the loneliness is conveyed through the words. To find and then lose someone you've never met but know everything about... this is why I don't usually kill off my characters. I miss them too much.

The odd thing is, I had a melody running through my head when I wrote this. Hmm, perhaps I should look into it.

hehe it's well deserved...go for the music! I'm about to post some stuff that I'm not sure whether or not to set to music...it's a hard decision but fun to play with I guess :D
